Workshop objectives:
The course is aimed at Gynaecologists (Consultants and Senior Trainees) with interest in Pelvic Floor Reconstruction & Uro-gynaecology surgery and aim to provide:
• Over-review of pelvic floor anatomy and applied surgical anatomy.
• Basic understanding of patient assessment & interpreting of urodynamic studies.
• Demonstration of effective and safe surgical techniques for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence, that includes: Autologous Fascial Sling, Retro- pubic/Trans-obturator Tension Free Vaginal tapes; Colpo-suspension & urethral bulking procedures
• Demonstration of effective and safe surgical techniques for the treatment of uterine, vault and vaginal walls prolapse, that includes: anterior/ posterior repairs, Vaginal Hysterectomy, Vaginal sacrospinous colpopexy/Hysteropexy (sacrospinous fixation), Abdominal Sacro- colpopexy/ Hysteropexy & Colpocleisis.
• Attendance, observation and potentially assistance in live surgery.
